Classical Carnival

Winton plays one of the most advanced Cornet solos in the classical repertoire

Winton Marsalis is a man who has been hailed in the jazz scene of the common man and is equally adored for his classical Trumpet/Cornet playing abilities. Among many other great Cornet solos he did a marvelous job playing the painfully technical solo, The Carnival of Venice. The Carnival of Venice has an unknown origin as we do not know who original wrote the melody, but it has been adapted into the piece you are about to hear by many great composers. The most accurate depiction of Winton's solo is most likely the variations created by Jean-Baptiste Arban and published in his Complete Conservatory Method, dubbed The Arban's Book. The book was originally printed in 1864, has never been out of print yet, and is a corner stone for many brass students. Prepare to be amazed as Winton, performs The Carnival of Venice and it's 4 variations.
